BRIGHT DAYS BULLETIN: Aliza

We’re gonna be alright. During these tough times, we’re aiming to keep our spirits high and our community close. If there is one lesson we’ve learned through this, it’s the reminder of what it is we value most — connection, creativity, inspiration, laughter, beauty and art.

In an effort to infuse a little extra light into your day, our team has gathered a list of what's sparking our interest — the things that have been grounding, distracting, entertaining, inspiring or just simply make us feel good. Today's list is from our buying coordinator Aliza!

Something I watched and loved (film/show/video): For a lighthearted show, High Fidelity on Hulu. But for something calming, look up In Residence: Pamela Shamshiri on Youtube, and if you haven't seen Parasite yet, now is the time!

Something that is making me LAUGH: Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness on Netflix. It is exactly what the title says, and more!

A couple photos that are reminding me of the power of beauty right now:

The other local and independent businesses I’m supporting right now: SO MANY. I've been showing support by ordering directly from these businesses, but also planning future visits and spreading the word!

AUSTIN: @spreadandco, @la.tunita.512, @elprimoatx, @_jowa.shop@takeheartshop

HOUSTON: @hokepokeheights, @wokkerhtx, @saigonhousehtx@forthandnomad

A quote or a mantra for right now: "There is a sweeter summer on the horizon"

A fun way to keep moving / exercise / wellbeing-related: Stretching after long periods of sitting at my desk or more realistically, the couch... and mini dance parties every time a good song comes on to your discretion.

A song I play when I want to feel good: “Saturday Love” by Cherrelle or “I Like It” by Debarge

What I’ve been cooking: Pan grilled tilapia topped with a lime chimichurri on a bed of cauliflower rice and roasted veggies on the side (different proteins can be substituted or replaced with more greens!)

What I’ve been wearing this week: Cozied up in my Lauren Manoogian Uzbek Cardigan. It’s perfect for indoors and outdoors.

A small thing that’s bringing me joy: My surroundings: freshly brewed tea, old family photographs, an herbal candle burning and a record playing.

What I’m reallyyyyyy excited to wear and where I’m going to wear it: An Anaak dress thrown over Jade Swim to ring in springtime probably at Barton Springs :)
