SUNROOM Q&A: KIND REGARDS JENNY
We're so excited to share more of the magic-making from our multitalented friend Jen Davis—whose new "Self Help" sweatshirts from her project Kind Regards Jenny feel like a hug in wearable form. Get to know more about Jen here (and read our first conversation with her from back in 2021 as part of our Friends with Sunroom series!)
Catch us up since our last Sunroom Q&A—what’s front of mind for you right now, what have you been working on?
After a way longer than expected hiatus from working with clients, I am back to helping people build the life of their dreams and melting their blocks with Expansion Brainspotting, Somatic Experiencing and Self Compassion.
I am also halfway through a grief memoir. I am so excited to share it with the world one day!
Tell us a bit more about how your Lucky Duck sweatshirts came about!
Lucky Duck is the fourth in the series of what I call Self Help Sweatshirts. It all started because I wanted a sweatshirt that said basic angel to remind me to be of service to others. Smile Baby I made for my dad and as a reminder to choose joy. THISISTHESIGNYOUVEBEENWAITINGFOR is to remember that we are all connected and we need each other. And Lucky Duck I made for my mom and to remember how lucky we are to be alive in all this beautiful mess.
Every sweatshirt is up cycled and one of a kind! I wear mine with anything and everything honestly. I love under a blazer, over a dress and one is always, always slung over my shoulders!
My wardrobe favorites of the moment...
I just got a Le Kasha black cashmere sweater and a Lee Matthew’s plaid coat for my birthday!! I wore them the other day with a little skirt and tights. I’m a New Yorker, and I felt like I was home walking the fall streets of the city! This is why I love clothes, because they can transport you anywhere!
The Howl Ruby Bow Ring is on my Sunroom bucket list!!!!
Something that’s bringing me joy right now:
Joy is a practice and I try to exercise joy everyday! Nothing brings me more joy than laughing with my friends and also sometimes crying. And, trusting that I am exactly where I am meant to be ALWAYS!
5 things I can't stop talking about...
1. The Hoji-Cha Parfait at Tsubaki In Echo Park. One of the best desserts I’ve ever had!
2. My Old Ass. If you could chat GPT a movie for me it would be this. I am obsessed!
3. The art of Hannah Rose Dunes
4. My blog: I love telling the world about cool people and sharing all the things I love!
